I bet you guys sang Destiny's songs more than once, but how about a band full of Destiny's Child fans, signed up to the same label of Destiny's Child and even nicknames its members after DC members in order to show each one's part of the group, not to mention the slik R&B style and the several line-up changes the band went through? Meet The 3rd Faze.
The 3rd Faze comes from Baltimore, Maryland. Current and final 3rd Faze members are Richard "Kelindrio" Umana, Isaiah "Beyonco" Debellotte and Clarence "Michello" Spencer. But this is definitely not the original lineup. Richard and Isaiah have known each other since 1999, and when they first decided to form a group together it included both of them along with Kenny Church and Chris Clark. It didn't take too long until Chris was sent away (personal group reasons), and the group, back then known as ECO continued as a trio and got more serious and proffessional. By December 2001 Richard decided to move to Houston, Texas (the city of DC), and Kenny surprisely joined a different band. ECO's future was very unclear, but then Richard decided not to move out after all. A due wasn't enough for Richard and Isaiah, and they decided to look out for more members. Eventually they met Clarence Spencer and knew that that he was the perfect choice. The band's name was finally changed into The 3rd Faze and this trio promises that this IS the final lineup.
The band is signed into Richard's father's Arita Entertainment Records, but also to Music World Music, a label that is managed by Mathew Knowles (Beyonce's father) and includes Destiny's Child in it. They are signed as solo artists as well to Arita but they currently prefer to stay as a group (reminds you of someone?).
The members are, of course, huge fans of Destiny's Child. They say that they became DC fans ever since "Killing Time" on the MIB soundtrack and their first single "No, No, No". As fans they claim to listen, buy and support everything that Destiny's Child do. "We love their style, their voices, everything", they say.
The 3rd Faze is an R&B group, whose members' claim to sound like DC-3 and B2K. Frontman Isaiah plays the piano and guitar. Audio samples will hopefully be added soon, and as for an album - "At this point we are not [working on one], we are having people help us. And we can't say much about it", says Clarence. But a DC3 sound is promised, Richard adds, "It's been a great year for us. At first it started out as a dream but now we have started to fulfill it".
